welcome to hamburg to the bien festival 2007 which this year is going to take place in st. katharinen in the heart of the city, just by the river elbe, the port of hamburg and the hafencity, one of the most ambitious projects of urban development in all europe. the bien festival 2007 wants to encourage young people coming together from all sides of the baltic sea to listen to each other and to tell their stories, the stories of their people, the stories of their lives, the stories of their lost and found dreams, the stories of their faith, stories of not knowing how to continue, and stories of joy, hope and redemption, stories not told with words alone, but with all expressions of human existence: music, poetry, drama and comedy, silence, action and debate, dance, meditation and prayer, stories which have the power to heal our wounds and re-establish our humanity. we will have discussions and creative workshops, we will explore the city and the harbour, we will meet the rich and the poor, the so called handicapped and the powerful, we will sing and play and pray together in search for ways peace and freedom and real dialogue between the people from east and west, north and south: “what a story!” – join us for the bien festival 2007 in hamburg!
international and ecumenical workcamp, august 06 -18
following the bien festival there will be an international and ecumenical workcamp. place for this is koppelsberg/plön where the northelbian youth department is located. we want to invite twenty young people from all over europe.
